  3. ║   THE Evil Hours DEATHMATCH PACKAGE                                         ║

  5. ├─- Introduction -────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤

  7. │ The Evil Hours deathmatch package contains 9 excellent deathmatch levels.   │
  8. │ There are two versions: Doom ][ and Heretic. To startup these levels you    │
  9. │ could use EvilHour.exe.                                                     │

  11. ├─- The Evil Hours WAD files -────────────────────────────────────────────────┤
  12. │                                                                             │
  13. │ There are three WAD files:                                                  │
  14. │ ■ evil_dm2.wad - Evil Hours for Doom ][                                     │
  15. │ ■ evil_her.wad - Evil Hours for Heretic                                     │
  16. │                                                                             │
  17. │ These WAD files are patch WAD files, this means that you'll need the        │
  18. │ original WAD file by ID too (registered version).                           │
  19. │                                                                             │
  20. │ The general properties of the levels are that they:                         │
  21. │ ■ don't have secret areas                                                   │
  22. │ ■ have an exit to the next level                                            │
  23. │ ■ are deathmatch (2.0) only, so no monsters at all and lots of goodies      │
  24. │ ■ are extensively tested and approved by the authors ;)                     │
  25. │ ■ even look nice and are texture-aligned                                    │
  26. │ ■ have no hom, medusa, tutti frutti and so on                               │
  27. │                                                                             │
  28. │ You can start an Evil Hours deathmatch game trough DSP, ipxsetup, dm etc.   │

  40. │ ■ level 4: Love Symbol     - pyREX: we're here to love and not to kill...   │
  41. │ ■ level 5: The River       - Yank: largest level of all, has one big hall   │
  42. │ ■ level 6: Total Madness   - Yank: major brainless fragging goes here!      │
  43. │ ■ level 7: Entryway        - pyREX: adapted version of Doom ][ level 1      │
  44. │ ■ level 8: No pain No game - pyREX: well... it's different                  │
  45. │ ■ level 9: Warpy Warpy     - Yank: think twice before you take a warp...    │

  58. ├─- Unexpected features -─────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤

  60. │ If you find something that looks like a bug, please mail us!                │
  61. │                                                                             │
  62. │ ■ In Heretic the mace sometimes changes into a disciple (the grey wizzard), │
  63. │   even if there's only one mace. This seems to be a caused by Heretic.      │
  64. │ ■ Exiting E1M9 in Heretic will bring you back to E1M7, because the          │
  65. │   original secret exit was in E1M6. In Evil Hours the exit in E1M8 is the   │
  66. │   exit to the 'secret' level.                                               │
  67. │ ■ Due to several special constructions in level 4, it is not wise to fly    │
  68. │   around. Actually this shouldn't be a problem, since there are no wings    │
  69. │   available (if you don't cheat :-).                                        │
  70. │ ■ We noticed that some people can get totally addicted to playing           │
  71. │   Evil Hours deathmatch games... you're warned!                             │
