║ THE Evil Hours DEATHMATCH PACKAGE ║

├─- Introduction -────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤

│ The Evil Hours deathmatch package contains 9 excellent deathmatch levels. │
│ There are two versions: Doom ][ and Heretic. To startup these levels you │
│ could use EvilHour.exe. │
│ │
├─- The Evil Hours WAD files -────────────────────────────────────────────────┤
│ │
│ There are three WAD files: │
│ ■ evil_dm2.wad - Evil Hours for Doom ][ │
│ ■ evil_her.wad - Evil Hours for Heretic │
│ │
│ These WAD files are patch WAD files, this means that you'll need the │
│ original WAD file by ID too (registered version). │
│ │
│ The general properties of the levels are that they: │
│ ■ don't have secret areas │
│ ■ have an exit to the next level │
│ ■ are deathmatch (2.0) only, so no monsters at all and lots of goodies │
│ ■ are extensively tested and approved by the authors ;) │
│ ■ even look nice and are texture-aligned │
│ ■ have no hom, medusa, tutti frutti and so on │
│ │
│ You can start an Evil Hours deathmatch game trough DSP, ipxsetup, dm etc. │

│ The authors and creators of the Evil Hours deathmatch package are: │

│ ■ level 1: Cthulhu - Yank: the ideal deathmatch level... │
│ ■ level 2: Evil Hours - pyREX: similar to Cthulhu, but slightly bigger │
│ ■ level 3: Well - Yank: quite small level with a... well │
│ ■ level 4: Love Symbol - pyREX: we're here to love and not to kill... │
│ ■ level 5: The River - Yank: largest level of all, has one big hall │
│ ■ level 6: Total Madness - Yank: major brainless fragging goes here! │
│ ■ level 7: Entryway - pyREX: adapted version of Doom ][ level 1 │
│ ■ level 8: No pain No game - pyREX: well... it's different │
│ ■ level 9: Warpy Warpy - Yank: think twice before you take a warp... │
│ │
│ ■ texture stuff and exe: - pyREX │
│ │

│ ■ the guys from ID for creating Doom and make all this patch wad stuff │

│ ■ the guys from Raven for creating Heretic. │
│ ■ the guys from deu, deu2, heu, deep, heep, deepbsp, rmb, ted and movelev. │
│ ■ the systemoperators from Computer Science at the VUA for giving us a │
│ oppertunity to play hours of deathmatch on the network (although they │
│ probably didn't like it). │

├─- Unexpected features -─────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤

│ If you find something that looks like a bug, please mail us! │
│ │
│ ■ In Heretic the mace sometimes changes into a disciple (the grey wizzard), │
│ even if there's only one mace. This seems to be a caused by Heretic. │
│ ■ Exiting E1M9 in Heretic will bring you back to E1M7, because the │
│ original secret exit was in E1M6. In Evil Hours the exit in E1M8 is the │
│ exit to the 'secret' level. │
│ ■ Due to several special constructions in level 4, it is not wise to fly │
│ around. Actually this shouldn't be a problem, since there are no wings │
│ available (if you don't cheat :-). │
│ ■ We noticed that some people can get totally addicted to playing │
│ Evil Hours deathmatch games... you're warned! │
│ │
